Ideas for Individuals

  • Friendly visitor for homebound or lonely senior.
  • Volunteer your pickup for yard waste runs or occasionally moving large objects.
  • Grocery shopping - Shop with or for a senior; days and hours are flexible.
  • Driver for "Second Tuesday" Events - Pick up seniors and bring them to Hamline Methodist Church between 11:00 - 11:30 and take them home at 1:00.
  • Drivers/escorts to medical appointments - Appointments mostly in St. Paul; some in Maplewood and Minneapolis.
  • Keep our Aging Well resource list up to date with your phone and information technology skills.

One of the most needed volunteer tasks is driving neighborhood elders to/from medical appointments, shopping trips, and our program events.

Ideas for Groups or Households

  • Yard maintenance and/or snow shoveling - Adopt an elder near you, shovel before or after work or school.
  • Clean a garage or tackle a yard needing extra TLC with friends, family, colleagues or church.
  • Honor our regular volunteers by serving at our fall Volunteer Appreciation dinner.
